Born 1963 in Gorton, Manchester (the future location of Shameless.) First art accolade aged 8 for a drawing of Alexander the Great’s favourite horse. Went to Salford Art College but got sick of the sight of Lowry’s Easel in the foyer so I left...Discovered Surrealism, met Anthony Earnshaw, the Leeds Surrealist, who introduced me to George Melly. Started the Non Euclidean Surrealist Group exhibiting including Manchester Library Tour. Drowned in Acid House in 1988 with involvement in warehouse raves, landed on the moon then left for St.Ives, Cornwall for 8 years. Disillusioned by the art thing down there I left for a stretch in Leeds as tour manager for indie pop greats CUD. A up and up experience… then BANG! An over zealous landlord destroyed my entire life’s work by bonfire while performing an illegal eviction. I took him to court and won with the help of George Melly, who said that I was prolific enough to have been “a british Picasso” so with the winnings from the case I went into painter’s exile in Robin Hood’s Bay, Whitby and put together a massive amount of paintings of newly invented flowers. My own Garden of Eden rising out of the ashes. I also married a porn star. Then came the huge show at Leeds City Art Gallery where 35, 500 people visited my show TIME EXPOSED STEPPING STONES – SURREALISM AND ACID HOUSE collaborating with dance music greats DOPE SMUGGLAZ and also appeared in one of their videos with Howard Marks and Shaun Ryder.Made some good dosh so moved to Shoreditch late 90’s for 15 years to join in with the artistic fun. Did some exhibitions with Nick Reynolds (son of Bruce Train Robber) then lost 5 years over developing bad habits and running illegal speakeasy clubs where my namedropping clientele escalated to grand proportions… Left London and went off to live in Worthing and became a Chilli Farmer and began working on this Planet Show. Moved back to Shoreditch to begin the most amazing phase of my life… The perpetual motion machine whose only purpose is it’s own activity…SURREAL ESTATE… London, Manchester, Austin Texas, here I come and here I show… Love craig cooperx.
