Dave Harper started in the music business by being in a band (the less said about that the better), which led to work for Rough Trade before branching out as a freelance PR. He then took The Man's money and worked for a major, the highlight of which was boasting to anybody who would listen that he was Elvis Presley's press officer (22 years after his death). Around the Britpop years he switched to band management, which is what he's been doing since – with some success and, inevitably, some failure..
