Martin Horsfield is chief subeditor at the Guardian Guide, having previously done the same job for Time Out and NME. When not correcting other people's spellings, he also writes about about pop music for the Guide, including pieces on The Milk. Aloe Blacc, God Help The Girl and the Rolf Harris Stylophone. As well as applying his subeditor's red pen to titles as diverse as the Daily Mirror, Shooting Times and Slimming, Martin has a distant past writing longer pieces on subjects ranging from Cuban cuisine to terrier racing, reporting from the Gay Olympics for Total Sport, and meeting his beloved Wigan Athletic's "Three Amigos" (including a young Roberto Martinez) for Goal. He's interviewed Oasis, Kylie, Kings Of Leon and the Kursaal Flyers, plus Radiohead, Suede, Richey Manic and Jerry Wexler, and spent 10 years DJing alongside the likes of Martin Freeman, Eddie Piller, Paolo Hewitt, Andy Lewis, Soulsavers, Chris "Beans" Geddes and The Bees at his little London club night Rock'n'RollSoul (http://rocknrollsoul.me). Give him a sniff of the bartender's apron and he'll tell you all about it..
