What with the unexpected bout of glorious sunshine over the weekend we had to make a quick Saturday afternoon dash to Black Eyewear, in Fitzrovia, for some new bins.

Black Eyewear base their frames on those of the great jazz musicians, and as we’ve discussed before, nobody’s cooler than a jazz musician. Makes you want to don your pork pie and start blowing one’s own trumpet doesn’t it? Doesn’t matter who you’re channelling, from the upbeat energy of Art Blakey to the cosmic connections of Sun Ra, there’s a frame to suit every cat. Here are some of our favourites. Benny: Dedicated to Benny Goodman, one of the most popular band leaders of all time.

Quincy: Dedicated to Quincy Jones, one of the most successful crossover jazz musicians of the ’70s and ’80s.

Milt: Dedicate to Milt Jackson, nicknamed ‘Bags’ for the bags under his eyes from staying up all night.
