Le Coq Sportif LCS R1000

Originally released in 1990, the Le Coq get it bang on with this latest re-issue.

It took us a while to get on with the ’90s revival when it came to footwear, but we’ve been taken in hook line and sinker by these efforts from Le Coq Sportif.

The brand has recently made a comeback bigger than a pre-tax Barlow, and are raiding their archives to bring us some of the glorious garms we probably missed the first time round. The R1000 were originally released in 1990, and this latest re-issue sees them sporting two handsome new colourways for s/s14.

Somebody is getting paid to push this because these trainers are monumentally shite.

Tom Armstrong 9:30 am, 19-May-2014

Wrong. Nobody gets paid to push this. What is it you don't like about them? Feel free to offer up alternatives.

ryan o'b 1:46 pm, 21-May-2014

brilliant trainers, old school vibe but with the modern day look.

Johnny L 6:07 pm, 4-Jun-2014

Alternatives, decent pair of runners Nike Internationalist, Adidas Boston, New Balance might be old hat again but the classics look way better than that. Trainers in general, Adidas Specizal, classic blue not the million and one colours they've come out with since, pair of Forest Hills, Berlin, Tobacco, Nike Wimbledon. Dunlop Green Flash and Hi Tech Badminton better. I'm always suspicious of articles attributed to entities such as Sabotage Style rather than an actual person's name, even a made up one. Surely if someone feels strong enough to write about something they should put their name to it? Next up Travel Fox and British Knights?

Tom Armstrong 9:32 am, 5-Jun-2014

These are for people under 50 though

Johnny L 1:44 pm, 7-Jun-2014

I'm glad you like them, be able to load up when they go in the bargain bin You don't think there's a whole legion of youngsters who've adopted the fashions of their fathers? Still wear your Stone Island Tom? Take it you don't agree people might have their suspicions about an article credited to Sabotage Style then?

Tom Armstrong 10:28 am, 8-Jun-2014

Of course I still wear it, I still wear half the trainers you mentioned too from time to time. My point is something isn't automatically shit just because you don't like it. There are other people out there, people with different taste, not everyone wants to dress like an ageing causal. Pieces are credited as Sabotage Style for the simple reason that related articles show up in the sidebar that way.

Johnnys not on his own they are fucking horrendous.

prmlscrm 7:54 pm, 11-Jun-2014

Indeed, they are foul.

Howard 1:29 pm, 16-Jun-2014

Hi-Tech Silver Shadow are better than these.

Couldn't stand them first time 'round; how is it possible this can look good on anyone? If you look like Chris Waddle wearing a shite tracksuit, you might probably get this to complement the mullet. If Le Coq reissues the Arthur Ashe, yes, pls go buy 'em...
