Are Chelsea Set To Make Shock Move For Spurs' Ex-Arsenal Striker?
Just when you thought Emmanuel Adebayor had used up all his luck in this funny old game, he's being targeted by Chelsea as a potential 'replacement' for Didier Drogba. Yes, according to the Daily Express, Chelsea want the ex-Arsenal star and now Spurs misfit to fill the hole that'll be left by a departing Drogba.
Adebayor has fallen out of favour at Spurs under new boss Mauricio Pochettino and with Harry Kane seemingly halfway to world domination, it might be in his interest to try somewhere new. Jose Mourinho worked with the Togo international when he was on loan at Real Madrid. With 8 goals in 22 games, Adebayor didn't do half badly in Madrid and Mourinho hasn't forgotten.
Chelsea's surprise interest will suit Adebayor perfectly. A club that's willing to pay his £100,000 per-week wages and an opportunity to stay in London will be like Christmas has come early.
