Arsenal Determined To Fight Off Chelsea And Bring Marco Reus to The Emirates
Arsenal still want Marco Reus. Who doesn't? The Metro report that the German remains on the Gunner's wanted list, despite his recent contract renewal.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with the 25-year-old, but Arsenal seem determined to get a deal done. Chelsea have also just signed Juan Cuadrado and still have Mo Salah on their books (although that's never stopped them before) and they're probably too busy sulking over Kevin de Bruyne to pay Reus any attention.
Arsenal have tried to sign Reus the past two summers and and are like a dog with a bone. Arsene Wenger is a huge fan of Marco's and is more than willing to pay the big bucks it'll take to sign the wonderfully talented attacker. With Walcott's situation as clouded in uncertainty as it is, its very plausible that Arsenal clear room for Reus with a sale of the Englishman. That would also lessen the blow of transfer fees and wages.
Reus' new deal seems like genuine loyalty because that's the kind of bloke he is, but if Dortmund find themselves out of Europe, it may be hard to say no to a team like Arsenal who look likely to be in the Champions League again next season.
Arsenal fans will be hoping Tomas Rosicky, Marco Reus' idol, is on the phone already…
