Arsenal Fans: Has Arsene Wenger Lost His F***king Mind?

Seriously.

Along with Chelsea, there are few top level teams in such need of a serious centre-forward alternative this summer and yet Arsene Wenger is steadfast, belligerent. According to the Independent, Wenger said: " "Up front we don’t need any more, maybe I will still bring in one centre-back. I will bring in a goalkeeper for sure and we are still out there to strengthen our squad."

Okay, mate. Whatever you say.

Ollie Giroud is a decent striker but he's not going to win you a title - not in the way that Man United bought RVP and he won them a title - so why is Arsene so reluctant to sign the kind of player they need? Besides Giroud, there's Yaya Sanogo - leggy, ineffective - and uh... Well they have Campbell - untested - and Chuba Akpom.

There was much speculation that Mario Balotelli would make the move to the Emirates from Milan, with the Gooners' French patriarch apparently ready to pounce, finally grasping the key to his side's much publicised war chest in his gnarled, liver-spotted claws ready to buy a world-class striker. But alas, it wasn't to be.

Arsenal fans can cheer about their financial fair play record all they want, but there's a reason why they haven't reached the heights of their competitors in the league this decade, and the finger of blame must point squarely at Arsene Wenger.

You have to question the sanity of a man who persevered with an obviously spent Giroud for so long last year, turning his side from genuine title contenders into dusty also-rans.

I'm half-expecting Wenger to see out this contract, whip around to the Ashburton Grove crowd as they tearfully bid him Adieu and pull out his soft, leathery member, urinating over a weeping Gunnersaurus, driven insane in the final leg of his tour of duty at Arsenal, driving them into the ground, basking in the flames. He's like a gallic Colonel Kurtz only Kurtz would never've signed Sebastien Squillaci.

The more optimistic fans in the Arsenal very-faithful will point to Alexis Sanchez - pace, power, trickery - and say "Uh, worra bowt him, then?" But he's simply not a centre-forward. He's just not. Pinning your hopes on a wide-man to play in the middle of your attack is beyond foolhardy - to pin them on a wide-man playing upfront in his first season in a new country is borderline masochistic.

For the love of all that is holy, Arsene, lad. Why not just buy a f***ing striker, mate? #TrustInWenger my a**e.
