Arsenal Lead The Chase For Chelsea 'Keeper, But Will Cech Choose Them?

As has been widely reported this season, Petr Cech wants out of Chelsea. The Czech Republic international is tired of playing second fiddle to Thibault Courtois and has been told he can leave come summer. According to the Telegraph, Arsenal and Roma are leading the race for Cech and the player will be able to choose where he goes.

Since Cech has given Chelsea 11 years service, it's only fair that they respect him and his choice to play anywhere he wishes. This is crucial for Arsenal, who wouldn't otherwise have a hope in hell of signing a Chelsea player whilst Mourinho's at the helm. Cech's family are settled in London and Arsenal can offer him first team football and most likely Champions League football too.

The only way Chelsea can soften the blow is by charging a lot of money for their legendary 'keeper. The club will ask for north of £10million for the 32-year-old who would be entering the final year of his contract. A worthwhile price to pay for Arsenal? Probably. Cech wouldn't just be a solid stopper, he'd bring experience, leadership and know-how. Make no mistake, this would be some coup for Arsenal.

Eventhough Roma are also very keen on Cech, they are keeping their distance as they wait to see what happens to Wojciech Szczesny as a result of any deal.
