Arsenal have been chopping and changing their goalkeepers this season and a legendary club figure thinks that they are badly lagging behind local rivals Spurs and Chelsea between the posts.
Bob Wilson was the Arsenal keeper when they won the double in 1971 spoke to the Evening Standard about the goalies at his former club and the players he really rates in that position.
"The goalkeepers that we have there at the moment are really good solid goalkeepers but then you've got to look right across the board and there are two goalkeepers this year that haven been truly outstanding.
"The two who stand out are obviously Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea and Hugo Lloris at Tottenham has just been absolutely amazing.”
It’s a sad fact for Arsenal fans to accept but it would cost them an absolute fortune to buy a keeper anywhere near as good as Courtois or Lloris. Has Arsene Wenger still got it in him to unearth a bargain in the transfer market?
