Arsenal, Man United And Liverpool Looking To Land German Superstar
A report from Bild (German) states that Arsenal, Man United And Liverpool are all set to bid for Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus. The feeling in Germany is that he will almost certainly leave this summer, especially with Dortmund experiencing such a dip in form and thus finding themselves at the bottom end of the Bundesliga.
Although heavily linked with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, it's though that the latter may be deterred by the German's injury record. Most people in football will tell you that at the price Reus is available for, it's a risk worth taking. The trio of English clubs will certainly see it that way and may well already be readying attractive contract offers.
Arsenal have long been admirers of Reus and the German's own idol, Tomas Rosicky, could play a role in helping the 25-year-old. Despite already signing Alexis Sanchez last summer, the Gunners are thought to be very keen and have reportedly emerged as one of the major, leading runners in the race for Reus.
Man United are desperate for a live-wire in attack and whilst focusing on bringing Gareth Bale to Old Trafford, they're keeping an eye on the Reus situation. With their ability to offer the German huge wages, there's no ruling out Man United.
The task of signing Reus is a tough one for Liverpool, however. Unless they secure Champions League football and prove themselves a force in the Premier League, it is unlikely that the German will be tempted. Brendan Rodgers is wary that Sterling may be snapped up by Real Madrid and will be looking to Reus as a potential replacement.
