According to The Telegraph today, Arsene Wenger has earmarked Serbian defender Neven Subotic.
The 26 year old is 6ft 3, has won two Bundesliga's with Dortmund and played in last year's Champions League final, as well as playing at international level for Serbia. It's not hard to see why Wenger has targeted him to bring some much needed top level experience and quality to Arsenal's back line.
Therein lies the problem, however. Arsene Wenger isn't a man who buys experience. At 26, he's older than Wenger's typical transfer target, but could this mean a change in the way the mercurial Frenchman deals in the transfer market? It's understood the Arsenal boss has £50m to play with this summer, but a proposed fee for Subotic is not yet know.
