According to reports in the Mail, Aston Villa's French target Jordan Veretout is due to jet in from France in the next 48 hours to agree a deal with the Premiership club.
Speaking to L'Equipe earlier this week, Nantes president Waldemar Kita said a deal had been "basically agreed", adding "I am obliged to give in, he is 22, he has a big future and he will play for a great English club."
The 22 year old Veretout has been capped 9 times for the France U21 side, with an impressive 128 appearances for Nantes since 2011. He will be the fourth Ligue 1 player to join Villa this summer, with Sherwood also signing Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Amavi and Jordan Ayew.
Earlier reports linked Veretout to Spurs, Liverpool and Leicester, but with the Benteke money burning a hole in Tim Sherwood's pocket, it seems the player is Villa bound.
