Big Sam Tells Song To Ignore Liverpool's Advances
Sam Allardyce has urged Alex Song to make his loan move from Barcelona a permanent one, snubbing Liverpool in the process. The Mirror report that Liverpool are primed and ready to hijack West Ham's offer to make the Cameroonian midfielder a fully fledged member of the squad.
"Clubs might have a bigger history and tradition than ours but it is not always the case that they will succeed against you", said Allardyce, who is extremely keen to keep hold of his midfield general.
Song has been one of West Ham's stand-out performers in what has been a fantastic season for the East Londoners thus far. As a result of retiring from international football recently, he is now available as a pose to jetting off to the African Cup Of Nations. But Hammers fans will be hoping that he commits to the club in a similar way come summer, even if Liverpool were to make an offer.
Liverpool, who are reportedly ready to sell their defensive midfielder, Lucas Leiva, could do with signing a player like Alex Song. With plenty of Premier League experience and somewhat more of a mature figure than he was in his Arsenal days, the 27-year-old would be a shrewd signing.
