Chelsea: Forget Costa, This Man Could Be Your Key To The Title

According to The Express, Jose Mourinho might've just found the answer to his painfully obvious striker problems.

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been told he's free to leave and didn't have the easiest of seasons last year but he's a striker of undoubted qualities. Most of all, he's really really f***ing fast.

Mourinho appreciates such a quality. His Chelsea are a counter-attacking force but have had a blunt point of attack until now, a player with his pace would be a real asset. If they had a player like that last season, they might just have won the lot.

In Germany, the 23-year-old suffered - in part - because he had Robert Lewandowski directly opposing him for the main strike spot. That he couldn't oust the Pole is nothing to be ashamed of - he was the country's best striker last year - but now, with the signing of Serie A hotshot Ciro Immobile, it looks likely he'll be in the same position next season too.

Even with his chances limited, the Gabonese international still managed to bag 13 goals in 23 games for Dortmund - not half bad if you take into account how stingy that league can be.

Sure, Diego Costa's move to the Bridge has been long mooted but - as he's shown in Brazil - he's not guaranteed to deliver, that's a big risk when he's the man you're pinning all your hopes on for a rumoured sum in the region of £30million-plus.

That's where Aubameyang comes in. Although he's in contract until 2018, he's got a buyout clause of just over £6million which - if you ask us - is a bargain.
