Chelsea are currently in the midst of a defensive crisis, and their Number 1 Thibaut Courtois being sidelined for four months isn't helping matters. Reports in the Metro however, claim Mourinho has identified Manchester United keeper Victor Valdes as the solution to his problem between the sticks, and will aim for a January move.
Chelsea have let in more goals than any other team in the league so far, and currently sit only one place above the relegation zone with a visit from Arsenal looming.
Former Barcelona keeper Valdes has failed to establish himself during his time at Old Trafford and was not even given an opportunity to prove himself during the David De Gea transfer saga.
Chelsea's interest in Valdes suggests that Courtois may be unavailable for longer than the initially reported four months, and while stand-in Begovic has Premier League appearances under his belt, Mourinho may feel his side needs a 'keeper with experience at the highest level.
