Chelsea have submitted a written transfer offer for Roma's Antonio Rudiger, according to Il Tempo (Italian).
The Italian outlet claim that Roma will complete a permanent deal for Rudiger so that they can sell him on to Chelsea. Roma would only pay £6.8million, whilst they would sell to Chelsea for £22.7million, turning a healthy profit. Roma are trying to raise funds in order to comply with Financial Fair Play as well as keep other, more valuable players.
Chelsea are in need of another defender as John Terry nears the end of his playing career at the club. Antonio Conte is returning to Roma after being rebuffed in his approach for Nainggolan by the player himself.
Despite the link, however, Rudiger says he's content where he is.
"In Rome, i'm happy." The German international stated.
Although, he added "...You never know what can happen in football."
