Chelsea To Use Brazilian As Bait For La Liga Winning Assist King
Chelsea are keen on Koke and will use Felipe Luis to tempt Atletico into a sale. According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea re looking to use Atletico's desire to re-buy Brazilian left-back Luis in order to strike a deal for £48million rated Spanish midfielder Koke.
Chelsea are thought to have enquired about the availability of the midfielder before he signed a 5-year extension at Atletico 10 months ago. Koke now has a £48million release clause in his contract, but that high price tag won't deter Chelsea. Having received an extra £40million (approx.) as a result of FFP compliance, Chelsea are ready to splash the cash once again this summer.
Felipe Luis has hardly featured for Jose Mourinho's side this season and with Cesar Azpilicueta performing so well, he must be wondering how wise the move to London was. A return to Atletico is very much on the cards, assuming the Spaniards comply with Chelsea's demands.
Koke, who already has 14 assists this season, would be a massive signing for Chelsea and, unlike his compatriot Cesc Fabregas, he tends not to drop off after Christmas. However, what does this mean for Fabregas and Oscar? Surely one of them will be moving on if Koke were to arrive.
