After losing Falcao and Robin Van Persie this season, Man United are left with an out of form Wayne Rooney, out of favour Javier Hernandez and a young James Wilson as striking options. A superb performance from Memphis Depay saw them run out 3-1 winners in the Champions League play-off against Club Brugge, while in the Premier League they've scored just twice in 3 games, and one of those was an own goal.
So could Barcelona and Brazil forward Neymar Jr. be the solution to their striking crisis? Well he just might be, the Red Devils have been linked with a big move for the striker, though it could be hard to lure him away from Barcelona, where he won the treble last season. Neymar cost Barcelona approximately £90 million when add ons and money paid to his family was totalled (this also resulted in a transfer embargo) and would cost a fee similar, perhaps even more to take him to Old Trafford.
Luis Van Gaal will be hoping to conclude a deal for a striker before the end of the transfer window, and a move for one of the worlds best strikers could be on the cards.
