Portuguese flop Nani has spent the last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon, with Man Utd subsidising his wages as part of a deal which saw Marcos Rojo join United last summer.
The loan spell is about to come to an end, but Nani is now surplus to requirements in a squad which also features Depay, Valencia, Januzaj, Young and Di Maria all able to play on the wings.
Here comes the problem. Moyes signed Nani on a 5 year deal to the tune of £110,000 a week, meaning if United are to see out the remainder of his contract, it's going to cost the club £17m.
Van Gaal knows he must find a buyer for Nani this summer, but wage demands are likely to put off most clubs.
