Ex-Spurs Superstar Is Open To Manchester United Move
Ex-Spurs man and world-record Real Madrid signing Gareth Bale is believed to be open to a return to the Premier League, with Manchester United the obvious destination. This, according to a report in the Mirror, is partially down to the criticism he's been receiving in Spain, despite his record actually being pretty bloody good.
Bale's preference would be to stay and win over the hyper-critical Real Madrid fans, but his head will be on a swivel this summer, awaiting a good offer from England. Manchester United are the club willing to put forward said offer and are still so very keen on the Welshman. It's also understood that Bale wants his 2-year-old daughter educated in England and therefore has an approximate 18months sell-by date on his Spanish 'fairytale'.
Bale, 25, would cost north of £75million and perhaps even more than he cost Real Madrid when he was signed from Spurs (£83.5million). However, Manchester United's status as financial heavyweights means money is no object. Madrid may be able the lower the price via negotiating a deal that involves United's Spanish stopper David De Gea. 'Los Blancos' are obsessed with the 'keeper and will almost certainly include him in discussions.
