Leeds have been linked with Nottingham Forest’s Jamie Paterson in the last week but it’s his colleague Michail Antonio who is the much needed winger that would make Leeds promotion contenders.

Aston Villa, Swansea and West Brom are all reported to be interested in Antonio. If these rumours are true then it is no surprise, as the unsung 25-year old who has been around a number of lower-league clubs, was the best player I saw play against Leeds in the past year.

Last season he scored 15 goals and provided four assists for Forest. For the whole of the game away at the City Ground he just kept powering accurate crosses into the Leeds box from the left wing.

Uwe Rosler likes wingers in a 4-3-3 formation and at the moment Leeds don’t have one. Full-back turned midfielder Sam Byram is the best we’ve got but he’s being touted around for £8m. Doukara is down as a striker-cum-winger but badly faded from contention after a promising start last season, while youth team striker Lewis Walters plays more in the old inside forward position. For a real threat from the wing you’d be hard pressed to beat Antonio.

Come on Cellino - he might be from South London but even sounds Italian. Watch him in action below.
