Why Man United Are Going All Out For Memphis Depay
Now that Dutch manager Louis Van Gaal has signed on to wave a magic wand (and £60million+ already) over all of the wounds inflicted by Moyes' desperate regime, it'd seem that practically any player worth his salt in the Holland national side this summer will be linked with a move too.
Depay's been in brilliant form over the past few years and the twenty-year-old has apparently now said he'd quite like to leave the Eredivisie small pond for life in the big(gest) leagues.
Terrifically fast, skilful and with an eye for goal, he'd be the perfect signing (if it ever actually happens). We'd hazard a guess that he'd go for no less than £15million - quite a risk on a player untested outside of Holland (Hello, Afonso Alves).
According to other reports, Spurs and City are also in the running. You know, Spurs who already have too many wingers and City who probably don't know who he is but will sign him anyway just because they can.
