Hilarious: This Liverpool Fan's Twitter Pledge Backfires Horribly During Arsenal Clash

"I'll eat my hat." This is an expression we've all used at some point to illustrate just how unlikely something is to happen. But when you pledge something on Twitter, it's a whole different story. One Liverpool fan was so confident about Mesut Özil not scoring in their clash with Arsenal (he did score) that he promised to cut his penis off if said event occurred.

Presumably he didn't actually slice his John Thomas off, but what made it even funnier was that the bloke then tried to cover the whole thing up or be funny by tweeting that he actually meant Olivier Giroud. Ah, of course you did. Then, as if by magic, Giroud scored. You can't help but laugh.

Let this be a lesson to all young men out there who make promises they know they can't keep — especially if it's amputating your one-eyed trouser snake.
