Leeds United are planning to bid for Stoke City's ex-Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell after cooling interest in Joey Barton, according to the Express.
Sidwell has failed to make an impression at Stoke and made only five starts last season. Leeds can offer Sidwell regular first-team football in a side that has promotion in their sights.
The 32-year-old was a product of Arsenal's academy and he turned pro in 2001, before leaving the Gunners in 2003 after numerous loan spells. Sidwell enjoyed four years at Reading before joining Chelsea in 2007.
Despite Sidwell's roller-coaster career, he has valuable Premier League experience and could help Leeds no end.
