This Leeds fan predicts a big promotion push for the club this season, and watch out for versatile young talent Sam Byram on the wing...

Pre-season: Good, bad or ugly?We lost quite a few of our pre-season friendlies.  But I don’t think you can read too much into that.  We won our first league game, against Brighton, and that’s all that matters.

Hopes for the season:Obviously promotion back to the top flight is what every Leeds fan wants.  It’s where we belong.

Fears for the season:That Norwich will sign all our best players.

Absolute bare minimum you’ll accept:Twelfth place.  My reason being that that’s one position higher than we finished last season.  Anything below twelfth means we haven’t progressed.

Fixture you’re most looking forward to?The Yorkshire derbies are always entertaining games.  I have a close friend who’s a big Wednesday fan, so that’s probably the game I look forward to the most.

Got the right manager? Definitely.  Brian McDermott has done it all before with Reading so hopefully he can draw on that experience and guide us to promotion.  Mind you, I said that about Neil Warnock.

By Christmas you’ll be…In a play-off spot.

Player you’d most like to sign?If we’re talking in a fantasy world, then Lionel Messi (as long as he’s paid his tax bills, I don’t want his financial irregularities bringing Leeds down).  In reality, I’d love to see Jermaine Beckford back in a Leeds shirt.  He signed for a Bolton a few weeks ago though.

Which player should we look out for? Most people know about Sam Byram already.  He’s a real talent and I hope no big clubs (or Norwich) come in for him.

Which player would you love to ditch?I don’t know if I’d say I’d love to ditch him, but El Hadji Diouf frustrates me a lot.  He can be lazy, undisciplined, and downright disgusting, but he can also provide quality on the park that only a handful of Championship players are capable of.

Opposition hate figure?El Hadji Diouf is an easy target for opposition fans because he gets visibly wound up.  A lot of opposing fans have disdain for Michael Brown as well because he gets stuck in and people don’t like that anymore.

Tell us something we don’t know about your club? Our club anthem, Marching On Together, was written by Barry Mason and Les Reed, the songwriting partnership behind the Tom Jones hit, Delilah.

What won’t happen this season?Michael Brown won’t score a hat-trick.

Favourite chant? In light of recent events it’s: “That Chelsea bastard, he’s out of our club.”

Where will you finish?2nd.

Any other news?Leeds Rhinos coach is also called Brian McDermott.  Not really news, just coincidental.
