Reports from Croatia claim that Liverpool have agreed personal terms with the Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
That just leaves Liverpool to agree a transfer fee with the Italian giants. Inter are said to be holding out for £18m, as they look to use the funds to launch a move for Yaya Toure.
The 21-year old has won 19 caps for Croatia and was signed by Inter as a teenager from Dinamo Zagreb. Now he looks set to move to Anfield, where he will replace Steven Gerrard as the heartbeat of Brendan Rodgers' side.
While Kovacic will need to improve his scoring ratio if he’s to prove to be a true replacement for Gerrard, highlights of the player demonstrate his ability to surge with the ball from midfield in a manner very reminiscent of ‘you know who’.
