Liverpool: Meet The Goalscoring Maestro Your Midfield Needs Next Season
There's a long list of talented players who came through the Real Madrid ranks but never got a proper first-team chance at the Bernabeu. Juan Mata, Alvaro Negredo, and Roberto Soldado (don't laugh) have all made their way to the Premier League from the Spanish giant's youth set-up, and Valencia's Dani Parejo could join them next season.
talkSPORT are linking Liverpool with a move for the 25-year-old central midfielder, who's a bit of a master of all trades. He's scored five goals and got 13 assists this year, but he also plays a crucial role protecting the Valencia defence, and he's handy with a free-kick as well. Parejo has a habit of scoring big goals too, striking in the win over Barcelona earlier this year and last weekend's thrilling 2-2 draw with Real Madrid.
Atletico Madrid are also in for the Spaniard, and Valencia aren't likely to let one of their best players go easily, so Liverpool might have to pay his full £20.5 million release clause to bring him to Anfield. He'd be expensive, but you tend to get what you pay for.
