Liverpool have joined Manchester United in the race for Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez, according to reports.
Liverpool are desperate to add some width and pace to their side after losing Raheem Sterling to Manchester City. Despite signing a bunch of players already this summer, it seems the Reds have more cash to splash as they push to reassert themselves as one of the top teams in the Premier League.
Pedro, 27, is hungry for games, soemthing Liverpool can offer him. However, the Spaniard, who helped Barcelona win the Champions League last season, is also hungry for games in Europe's biggest competition. Manchester United are far better placed in that respect.
Barcelona have stated that any club wanting to buy Pedro this summer will have to meet his €30m release clause, so there is almost no room for negotiation.
