Liverpool are about to activate Spurs target Christian Benteke's release clause and will complete the deal this week, according to the Sunday Express.
Both Liverpool and Spurs have been tracking Benteke ever since he joined Aston Villa and finally Liverpool feel it's the right time to splash the cash and get a deal done for the Belgian beast of a striker.
The £32.5m deal would bring Liverpool's spending to £80m already this summer, as they put a more decisive and efficient transfer policy into action. Spending so much does, however, suggest that Raheem Sterling and others may well be on their way out after all.
Hopefully for Liverpool, Benteke, in tandem with the likes of Milner, Ings and Firmino, can help finally replace Luis Suarez in terms of attacking prowess and, most importantly, goals.
