Man City Set To Dump Jovetic After Champions League Snub
Stevan Jovetic's spell at Manchester City could be in serious doubt, according to reports in today's Times, after the Montenegrin forward was unceremoniously dropped from City's Champions League squad. City manager Mauricio Pellegrini is said to greatly prefer the talents of new £28m signing Wilfried Bony to Jovetic, who has proved to be a significant disappointment during his injury-hit time at the Citizens.
Reliability appears to be the greatest flaw of Jovetic, who has appeared sparsely during his time for City, largely deputising - when fit - for the similarly crocked Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko. Despite scoring 11 goals in 32 appearances, a solid record for a player who is largely used as a super-sub, Jovetic has often quite notably failed to set the world alight in a Blue shirt, and now looks poised to return to Italy, where any of Serie A's superpowers would no doubt welcome him back with open arms.
