Man United Join Chelsea In The Race To Snap Up Spanish Star

If you've got legs, and you're going to cost a princely sum, chances are that Man United will be linked with you at some point in the summer.

So desperate is David Moyes to add fresh impetus to his squad, that he is currently hovering above a 'short' list of around 1500 names, eyes closed tightly, and randomly smushing his little chubby finger into the ink-splattered piece of paper.

But, luckily for United fans, his latest target is a bit of alright - and would more than fill the Patrice Evra-sized gap which the Frenchman is likely to leave at Old Trafford come the end of the season.

Today's chosen target is Sevilla's Alberto Moreno, and the Spanish left back, who has recently been impressing both domestically and for his national side, is quickly becoming one of the hottest properties in European football.

So much so, that the Sevilla president Jose Castro has confirmed that the club had to block a big money move from a Premier League club back in January.

That club is thought to be Chelsea, who are looking to shift Ashley Cole out of the Bridge, and replace him with a newer, less annoying model - potentially, United's other target, Southampton's Luke Shaw, who has confessed to being a boyhood Blues fan.

With Evra getting on a bit, Alexander Buttner being Alexander Buttner, and Luke Shaw likely to choose Chelsea over a move to the north west, Moreno might just be the man to tear up the left hand side at Old Trafford.
