Man United Legend Beckham Set To Return To Premier League...At Liverpool?

With just a handful of games left to play this season, Liverpool have been the surprise package so far - but they could be about to cause shockwaves off it, too.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is already working hard to secure his targets for next season, and has been desperately trying to convince ex-England captain David Beckham to come out of retirement for one last cameo.

It could be a hugely merchandisable signing for the Reds, who have been trying to tap into the Asian markets for some time, but struggling to compete with their rivals commercial clout.

The midfielder has not played competitively since turning out for PSG at the end of last season, but has been keeping fit with the help of Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber's Celebrity Personal Trainer in the States.

Beckham became close with Liverpool's American owners during his time in MLS, and, after much persuasion, it appears that he might be on the brink of signing a one year deal worth £150,000 per week, to play back up to ageing midfielder Steven Gerrard.

He said, "I know that it will come as a shock to United fans, but after speaking long and hard with my good friends Jamie Carragher and Stevie Gerrard, I feel like this could be a great opportunity for me."

"It'll take me a few games to get back to match fitness, but I had a chat with Scholesy about his return in similar circumstances to Man United, and he convinced me to give it a go."

Beckham is set to wear Jamie Carragher's old number 23 shirt.
