Man United Line Up New Summer Bid For Brazilian Centre Back
It was widely reported that Man United made a last ditch attempt to bring PSG's Marquinhos to Old Trafford on deadline day, however they were knocked back and will now have to wait until summer to make another move for the player. According to Manchester Evening News, that is exactly what Van Gaal plans to do.
The player himself has hinted that he'd be interested in a move to the Premier League by saying, "There is even some children in Brazil who grow up supporting English teams."
Marquinhos also said that "there have been some discussions with English clubs, but right now I'm at PSG."
It's reported that Man United could offer up to £30million for the young Brazilian. Their need is such that they've accepted the fact that they'll have to splash large amounts of cash to secure top defenders.
The good thing about Marquinhos is that at 20-years-old he's still young and thus offers Man United both longevity and better value for money. On the flip-side however, his age may be a concern considering Man United's defence is crying out for some experienced authority.
