It's a tit for tat battle that's been ongoing for weeks, and now it looks like Chelsea will try to steal Barcelona star Pedro from under Manchester United's nose, according to The Metro.
Jose Mourinho is in the market for a replacement for the outgoing Juan Cuadrado, who only signed for Chelsea in January but is already looking likely to leave, and the £21m Pedro will be tempted to fill the role with a four year deal, according to reports in the Spanish press.
With Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao off United's books, LVG is looking to add some fresh energy up front. Pedro is hungry for minutes, something United can guarantee him.
Chelsea were initially thought to be leading the chase for Pedro ahead of the likes of long-term admirers Arsenal because the player saw them as his preference.
Barcelona coach Felipe Luis is resigned to losing Pedro, despite not wanting to. He understands that the 27-year-old wants regular football, something that cant be offered with the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez guaranteed starters.
