Man Utd Join Liverpool And Man City In The Race For Danny Ings
Burnley's Danny Ings is hot property at the moment and Liverpool have held interest for a while. More recently, Man City have also had a look at the England Under-21 international as they look to increase the number of homegrown players on their books. However, both aforementioned clubs will now be looking over their shoulder as Man Utd have joined the race according to the Sun (subscription required).
The paper report that Man Utd's chief scout Jim Lawlor was sent to watch Danny Ings when Burnley played Liverpool last weekend. It now depends on Lawlor's report and how keen Man Utd are.
It's no secret that Man Utd are in search of a goalscorer since Robin Van Persie and Radamel Falcao have been misfiring. Louis van Gaal is famous for having a ruthless edge and may be looking to cut one or both of the players loose come summer and take a punt on Ings and possibly someone else too. Ings wouldn't be expensive, therefore the decision would almost entirely be down to him and where he wants to play his football.
