Man Utd Refuse To Give Up On £40M Brazilian
Paris Saint Germain's Marquinhos has long been on Manchester United's shortlist. Having reportedly tried for the defender last summer and continuing talks in January, United seem very keen on getting their man.
According to the Daily Mail, however, PSG are increasingly reluctant to sell. They see Marquinhos as a long-term mainstay in their defence and a key to future success. Another reason Marquinhos is valued so highly is that he has an EU-passport and therefore doesn't take up a non-EU place in the squad.
If Manchester United want to bring the defender to Old Trafford in the summer, they will most likely have to stump up over £40million. Despite the record high price tag, United shouldn't bat an eyelid. If they are so desperate to add some real quality to their defence, it will be seen as a worthwhile investment. The 20-year-old Marquinhos is one of the most talented young defenders in world football and the reality is that top dollar gets you top talent.
