David De Gea's wife, Edurne Garcia, might just have added a whole lot more fuel to the fire of speculation surrounding a proposed move from Manchester United to Real Madrid as she reportedly let slip something off-microphone.
Spanish outlet El Mundo claim that Garcia went off-microphone after an interview and suggested that a move to Madrid was already arranged.
"Now, when he is in Madrid," she reportedly said, "everything will be much easier."
The reliability of the claim is up for discussion, but it will certainly put a lot of doubt into United fan's minds as this wouldn't be the first time Garcia has spoken of wanting to move. She was once quoted as saying Manchester was "uglier than the back of a fridge".
Whether Garcia's slip means De Gea is actually on the move this summer is another question. She could simply be saying that when he eventually moves to Madrid, everything will be back to normal. It's seeming increasingly likely that De Gea may see out the year left on his current United deal before jetting off to Madrid on a free-transfer.
