Manchester United will do battle with rivals Manchester City for Valencia's Nicolas Otamendi if they miss out on Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos, according to the Express.
United are desperate to sign a world class central defender, with Sergio Ramos top of their list. However, if Madrid don't play ball, they'll look to their La Liga rivals Valencia for an alternative in Nicolas Otamendi.
Otamendi is also wanted by City after Mangala's unconvincing first season and with club captain Vincent Kompany not being the player he once was, it's even more imperative that they stock up.
The Argentine had an excellent season for Valencia was almost flawless in this summer's Copa America, with his side only losing to Chile on penalties in the final - a match in which he impressed.
If the two Manchester clubs do start a bidding war with one another, it will start at £35m, which is what Valencia will demand.
