Since signing Patrick Bamford from Nottingham Forest in 2012, the England U-21 international has been loaned around to various clubs, scoring goals everywhere he goes.
Bamford scored 21 goals in 44 games for MK Dons in League One, before adding eight in 21 games for Championship side Derby last season.
Now he’s at Middlesbrough, where his form is really starting to make people stand up and take notice. Bamford has scored 12 goals in 28 games, including this one in the 1-1 draw at Birmingham this week.
Bamford was also on target in Boro’s shock 2-0 FA Cup win over Manchester City last month. It bodes the question as to whether this is a player who has a future at Chelsea.
Few youngsters come through the ranks at Stamford Bridge but the example of Tottenham’s Harry Kane shows what English talent can achieve if given the opportunity in the top flight. So is Bamford worth a shot, or is he destined to be flogged to a smaller club?
