Mourinho's Been On The Phone To Chelsea's £40M Striker Target
According to the Metro, reports in Italy state that Jose Mourinho has been calling and texting Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
With 16 goals in 31 appearances, it's easy to see why Mourinho is seemingly desperate to persuade Icardi to join Chelsea come the summer. The Argentinian is valued at approximately £40million and with a host of clubs chasing his compatriot Paolo Dybala, who may end up costing even more, Icardi may be a smart choice.
However, the feeling in Italy is that the 22-year-old Icardi may be near to signinga new deal at Inter Milan which will see him triple his current wages. Chelsea's financial pull is strong as is their appeal, so even if Icardi does extend, it shouldn't deter the West London club.
Chelsea's interest is clearly strong, implied by the supposed phone calls Mr Mourinho has been making. And when Jose Mourinho or Roman Abramovich want something, they usually get it.
