Newcastle To Sign Dutch Hitman? Watch Him Rattle In A Sackful
According to reports on Sky Sports News, long-term Newcastle target Luuk de Jong might be available for loan from Borussia Mönchengladbach in January after a prominent boardmember at Die Fohlen said that they were after getting de Jong more game time 'but definitely not [at] a competitor'.
After scoring reams of goals in Eredivisie for FC Twente, de Jong made a £12million move to Mönchengladbach in July 2012. His time in Germany has brought a few goals but a fall-out with the current first team coach has meant that the 23-year-old has been limited to just 23 appearances so far in his one-and-a-half seasons.
A tall, talented goalscorer with a great leap, de Jong is also accomplished at international level, scoring three goals in his seven games for Holland.
A terrific alternative to the similarly pitched strikers at Pardew's current disposal, surely Newcastle should bite Mönchengladbach's hand off to loan the player for the back half off this season.
