Fans may profess to love their club but how many would be willing to quit their job in order to help them out?

That’s just what Leeds fan Magnus Sveen has done in an effort to reverse the club’s fortunes. The Norwegian has been a TV reporter for TV2 in his native country since 2001 and has come to the logical conclusion that because Leeds’ downward trajectory has coincided with this period, the job has to go.

A superstitious man, Sveen has never worn a Leeds shirt to a game ever since the day he forgot to against Wimbledon and Tony Yeboah scored ‘that goal’. We look forward to Magnus’ period of unemployment coinciding with Leeds’ flying up the league pyramid as the cosmos reacts to his decision.

Watch Magnus' emotional farewell piece, complete with English subtitles, over at TV2's website here.
