PSG Look To Do Chelsea Further Damage By Targeting Defender
According to the Express, Paris Saint-Germain, who knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League in miraculous fashion, are targeting the Blues' right back, Branislav Ivanovic.
Ivanovic, 31, has been a mainstay in Chelsea's defence this season and has also scored crucial goals in big games and is the top scoring defender in the Champions League. However, with a year left on his current deal and Chelsea, like many other clubs, having a policy of only offering 1-year extensions to over 30s, which is not always appealing at an age when players would rather be secure and assured.
PSG are reportedly set to offer a sum somewhere in the region of £15million for the Serbian hard-man. Ivanovic's lack of official representation in terms of an agent, make the decision purely his. The Parisians will be able to match and improve upon Chelsea's current contract offer which is thought to be worth £90,000 per-week.
As Ivanovic reaches the top of the curve in his career, the attraction of playing in a new league, with more money and a longer contract may be something that makes his head turn.
