PSG Star Midfielder Will Set Arsenal Back Arsenal £40Million
PSG's Marco Verratti is widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Europe and his progression is proving the hype right. Arsenal are still said to be looking for a holding midfielder to acquire in the summer, despite Francois Coquelin signing a new, long-term contract recently. According to the Daily Star, PSG have quoted Arsenal £40million for the Italian midfielder.
Although Verratti is not physically imposing, he still has good strength for his size and a high level of footballing intelligence and technical ability. The 22-year-old is much more suited to Arsenal's approach than a big, powerful oaf would be. His range of passing and ability to retain possession are the sort of things that Arsene Wenger is attracted to in a player, especially central midfielders.
Having only recently signed a 5-year deal with PSG, Verratti may be hard to lure away and his price, as aforementioned, will be high. However, we've seen in recent transfer windows that Wenger does splash the cash when it's the right player and the PSG man certainly seems the perfect fit. He'd add true, world class quality to an area that Arsenal need to solidify. Verratti in addition to Coquelin would see them stocked in the holding midfield area for the first time in a very long time.]
