'Ready-Made Gerrard Replacement' Poised To Make Anfield Switch?
According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic is said to be disaffected with life in the Italian capital - on account of their struggle in mounting a credible challenge in Serie A - with Liverpool said to be queueing up for the Bosnian's signature.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is already a known admirer of Pjanic's, and was said to have visited Rome in February as part of a charm offensive in bringing Pjanic to the club.
Pjanic will not come cheap, however, and any transfer would likely cost in excess of £30 million, with Pjanic reportedly requiring around £160k a week. On account of this, oil-rich PSG have also been linked with Pjanic, as well as Liverpool.
If Pjanic was to sign for Liverpool, he would be a veritable coup, and would no doubt strengthen Liverpool's title credentials for the season ahead. Whether or not he does sign for Liverpool, however, remains to be seen.
