Roy Keane is at the centre of controversy once again after allegedly attacking a Scotland fan after a disagreement outside of a hotel.
The alleged attack has taken place outside the Ireland team hotel - just 48 hours before their Celtic clash with the Scots.
According to a 'source' there was a brief exchange of views between Keane and the Scotland fan earlier this evening (Wednesday). Things then got a bit spicy and the former Manchester United man threw a punch which knocked his victim to the ground.
‘It appeared fairly innocuous’, the source told the Daily Mail. ‘ A man approached Roy outside the hotel, there appeared to be a few heated words and then the man was on the ground. It happened very quickly.'
A Garda spokesman confirmed the alleged assault. "Gardai are investigating an incident where officers were called to a hotel in Portmarknock. Medical assistance was rendered."
