Spurs Close To Agreeing Deal For Young Austrian Defender
Despite claims that Tottenham Hotspur have already got a deal in place for FC Koln defender Kevin Wimmer, Sky Sports report that they aren't quite there yet. However, they are very interested and in contact with the German club with a view to verbally agreeing a deal to sign the Austrian in the summer transfer window.
Spurs wanted to sign the 22-year-old Wimmer in January, but couldn't offload either of Younes Kaboul or Vlad Chiriches who were both made available for loan. It's thought that the pair will be put on the transfer list this summer as Spurs crack on with finding younger, fresher and more malleable players for Mauricio Pochettino to work with.
The Sky Sports report also highlights Spurs' intent to bring more youth players through following the success of players like Ryan Mason and Harry Kane.
If a deal is struck for Wimmer, he will cost Spurs an estimated £4.3million.
