Alexandru Maxim is having a fantastic year so far. The 23-year-old is probably one of the most underrated attackers in world football right now but, after a string of fantastic performances, four goals and six assists so far in the Bundesliga this term, that doesn't look set to stay that way.
Fantastic feet, beautifully inventive and deceptively strong, the diminutive Romanian has been compared to legendary compatriot, hirsute wizard Gheorghe Hagi, Maxim would be a fantastic addition to Spurs' struggling side - a player with real direction, instead of the flatter-to-deceive play of the attackers they're currently employing.
They'll have to act fast though, with Romanian news sources claiming that Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are both considering bids for the player in January but with fellow countryman Vlad Chiriches performing excellently so far, they may just have an upper hand.
