Spurs Turn Up Heat In Chase For Colombian Striker
The Mirror report that Spurs have earmarked Sevilla's Colombian hit man Carlos Bacca and sent their head of recruitment to watch the player in midweek. The player has a release clause in his contract thought to be worth £18million, which isn't exactly excessive in today's market.
Bacca has 17 goals and 5 assists in all competitions this season and would offer Spurs the extra firepower they need, as they can't expect Harry Kane to do it all. With a permanent offloading of Adebayor on the cards this summer as well as shifting the unimpressive Soldado, some serious wage space could be cleared up in preparation.
Daniel Levy, however, is reluctant to part with much cash because of the expenditure that followed Gareth Bale's departure and the lack of return from those players. Pochettino will have to convince Levy that Bacca is the real deal if he wants to get his man.
